Local incentives

Property Tax Abatement

Osage County may offer property tax abatement, subject to a public approval process. A property tax abatement may be obtained for new and expanding industries in some locations. Abatements are granted at the discretion of the given municipality where the expansion or relocation will occur. The abatement can be for up to 10 years plus up to an additional 2 years for the construction period of the project. The abatement percentage will vary depending on the circumstance and community.

Osage County Neighborhood Revitalization

The Osage County Neighborhood Revitalization Plan is designed to provide incentives to revitalize designated areas determined by the Board of County Commissioners. This program works by providing tax rebates as an incentive for property owners to make improvements that improve the look and viability of a community.Click here for more information

Small Business Administration (SBA) 504 Program

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) 504 Loan Program provides long-term, subordinated, fixed rate financing for fixed assets including machinery and equipment with a life of ten or more years, or real estate loans with a maturity of 20 years.

Small Business Administration (SBA)7 (a) Loan Guarantee Program

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) 7(a) Loan Guarantee Program is the primary SBA mechanism for financing user-owned or user-operated business expansions.

Business Machinery and Equipment Tax Credit

The Kansas Tax Reduction and Reform Act of 1998 against the income tax, privilege tax, and insurance company premiums tax.

Property Tax

Real property used for residential purposes including multifamily residential is assessed at 11.5 %

Vacant lots are assessed at 12%

Real Property used for commercial and industrial purposes and buildings and other improvements located upon land devoted to agricultural use.. 25%
