Enterprise Zone
Non-metropolitan Business Region (Enterprise Zone)
Osage is designated as a non-metropolitan business region, or Kansas
Enterprise Zone, by the Kansas Department of Commerce and Housing.
The Kansas Enterprise Zone Act provides three basic incentives
for new or expanding businesses. Qualifying businesses that expand
their business through job creation and capital investment may
be eligible to:
·
Claim a one-time job creation tax credit of $1,500 per new employee
·
An investment tax credit of $1,000 per $100,000 qualified business
facility investment
·
Claim a sales tax exemption on the purchase of personal property
or services purchased for the purpose of constructing, reconstructing,
enlarging, remodeling, or equipping a qualified business facility
Additionally, under the Enterprise Zone Act, retailers creating
at least two new jobs and locating within a community of 2,500
or less population may receive the state and local sales tax exemption
on expenses relating to construction, reconstruction, remodeling
and equipping a facility. For more information, contact the Kansas
